Ultra-thin bearings for jog shuttle

– Development History

 This product is a thin-section bearing with a very narrow cross-sectional area compared to its diameter.
With an outer diameter of 35 pi, but an inner diameter of 28 pi, a width of 3.8 mm, and a thickness of 1.2 mm, the bearing was developed at the request of a German auto parts manufacturer.
The customer requested the development of bearings that meet the following conditions.

1. No corrosion
2. No smell of grease
3. Smooth movement
4. Long life span
5. No performance degradation due to temperature and humidity
6. Appropriate price

 Developing plastic bearings except condition 3 was not a problem for ORBIS engineers with long experience and skills.
In the case of smooth movement under condition 3, there was no problem with the single bearing, but there were many difficulties due to the large dimensional difference and poor roundness due to the injection molding of the binding object.
When ORBIS’ technical staff solved this problem that they thought would be impossible, consumers were very satisfied and recognized ORBIS’ high technology.
