Four-point Contact
Ball Bearings
When typical bearings rotate, the ball touches 2 points, at the respective raceway of the outer ring and inner ring, but the four-point contact ball bearing has 4 contact points, 2 points at the raceway of the inner ring and 2 points at the raceway of the outer ring.
Due to these differences, 4-point contact bearings can withstand higher loads than normal bearings ~ approximately 1.6 times the dynamic load, and 4 times the static load (in our 600X series bearings).
Reducing performance degradation by the load-direction, 4-point contact ball bearings are most suitable for a rotating body whose center of gravity changes randomly under the working environment requiring no-vibration, low noise and high corrosion resistance, etc.
※ ORBIS 4-point contact ball bearing is characterized by a PEEK-specific material for the inner and outer-rings.
