Self-aligning Ball Bearings

Self-aligning Ball Bearings are designed with one inner ring having double-row orbital groove and a sphere in which the center orbital surface of the outer ring coincides with the center of the bearing.

The balls, cage, and inner ring can rotate at a certain angle to the outer-ring. This means that even in cases of a misalignment or angular displacement occur, the eccentricity of the shaft is automatically adjusted for.

This type of bearing is widely used for power-transmission shafts because the shaft is prone to deflection.

Additionally, if an adapter is used for bearings with tapered holes in the inner diameter, it is often used for power shafts because it is easy to assemble and disassemble.

Self- aligning ball bearings are able to support axial and radial loads in both directions.

*Note: the axial load capacity of this bearing type is not very high, so it is not suitable for working environments requiring high axial loads.
